Read ANYTHING & EVERYTHING

Back to School - Getting prepared

Allowing children the flexibility to read ANYTHING & EVERYTHING, such as shop signs, cereal boxes, the instructions to a new game and more. It can only enhance a child's skills.

We, as parents, acknowledge the importance of reading to your child on a daily basis, as do schools and are only too aware of the effect it has on a child's development.

Reading with your children is a wonderful thing. Having read to my children over many years, I discovered that as long as we were talking, making stories up or reading, they were learning and it was always fun for us all.

Reading with your child can be anywhere, and about anything, and everything. If you're on a bus guessing how many website addresses will be spotted before your journey ends, or discovering new street names - it remains to be reading and fun.

It's relaxed, informal and establishes a wider knowledge of the world - I think that's a great lesson - no teacher would ever deny a child!
